Dr. Tozer and his professional staff offer diagnosis and treatment for many vision related issues. Their extensive knowledge and experience are the cornerstones for providing the most comprehensive vision care in the valley.
Cataract Surgery for a cataract involves removing the natural lens of the eye that contains the cataract. The lens can then be replaced with an artificial lens called an intraocular lens implant (IOL), or it can be left out and contact lenses, or rarely eyeglasses, can compensate for its absence.
Glaucoma Surgery and Treatment Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases in which a specific pattern of damage to the optic nerve results in loss of eyesight. At first, the person loses their peripheral vision. If glaucoma is not treated, vision loss may continue, leading to total blindness over time. Glaucoma is usually treated with medications, though laser treatment or surgery is often needed.
Refractive Surgery Refractive surgery attempts to correct nearsightedness by changing the shape of the cornea. The goal of refractive surgery is to allow people who are nearsighted to see clearly without corrective lenses or to be less dependent on corrective lenses.
Comprehensive Exam Your eye care begins with a comprehensive vision examination. In this examination, Dr. Tozer looks for evidence of eye diseases such as glaucoma and cataracts, vision conditions such as nearsightedness and farsightedness and health problems such as diabetes and hypertension.
Full Service Optical We offer a large selection of fashionable eyewear and the latest in contact lenses.
Contact Lenses Contact lenses are small plastic disks, shaped to correct a refractive error such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. They may also be used by people who have had surgery for cataracts. Contacts are placed directly on the eye, where they float on a film of tears in front of the cornea. Correct design and fitting of the lenses are essential for comfort, safety, and accurate correction.
Medical Diseases of the Eye Diseases fo the eye can be caused by allergies, bacteria and/or viruses and can range in severity Early detection and professional care is very important to maintain helthy eyesight.
Diabetes Early detection and treatment of diabetic retinopathy can help prevent vision loss. Screening for retinopathy is therefore extremely important. If you suffer from any form of diabetes, your vision is at risk. Dr. Tozer recommends annual exams for all diabetics.
Hypertension Ocular hypertension means your intraocular pressure (IOP) is elevated above normal levels. Elevated IOP is also associated with glaucoma, which is a more serious condition, with associated vision loss and optic nerve damage. Ocular hypertension by itself doesn't damage your vision or eye, but people with ocular hypertension are at increased risk for developing glaucoma.
