    Minimal farsightedness is diagnosed in people who have to focus a little bit to see at distance and focus more to read. This is a normal situation in small children. Extreme farsightedness can cause crossed eyes. Adults who are farsighted tend to need reading glasses earlier.

    What is nearsightedness?
    People with nearsightedness have difficulty seeing at distance but usually can read fairly well at close. This is an eye that is a little too strong.
